Since commissioning Numaligarh Refinery has been continuously serving its neighbourhood, Golaghat District and State of Assam through its community development programme. In a statement NRL inform local press that till March 2004, NRL invest Rupees Two Crores approximate for the developments of agriculture, education, infrastructure, community health in the areas within 10 kilometers of the Refinery.
For development of agriculture and allied NRL has provided financial assistance of Rs. 20 lakhs for purchasing of Tractor, seeds, handloom, yarn, piggary, to its neighbouring villages of Na Pathar, Rajabari, Lataku, Khumtai, Dhodang, Cinakan etc.
NRL has invest Rs. 75 lakhs for development of nearby school, colleges etc. NRL improve the facilities in as many as 12 school in the area. On the other hand NRL undertake varios development activities of road, providing ring wells, construction of Bridges, Stadium, public hall, labortory building, library building and drinking water system etc within the five kilometers radius of the refinery. For development of infrastructure NRL invest Rupees 68 lakhs till March 2004 NRL has substancially contributed various promotiona l activities of sports and cultures in the area. NRL distribute books ,play goods, instruments to near by clubs, organisation and library. NRL also organised professional football coaching for the young talents of the area.
This accord refinery within the short period after commissioning earned many prestigious recognition from reputed rating agency for its qulity production and management.
