Assam has its own identity whenever we talk of tradition and culture. It is a land of many tribes and all of them have different folk dances. To showcase some of the folk tradition of the state a programme titled ' Brahmaputra Beats' was organized in India International Centre , New Delhi on 25 th and 26th February. The programme includes dances on folk orchestra and an Ankiya Naat titled Parijat Haran.

The first day was for the dancers who had performed Goalpariya Dance (On folk music of Goalpara), Karbi dance, Dance based on Kamrup's folk song depicting Radha-Krishna, Kherai Dance of Bodo Community, Mishing Dance, Bhortal Nitya and last but not least was colourful Japi Dance.

A 90 minutes Ankiya Naat titled 'Parijat Haran'was performed on next day (26th Feb). The Naat was choreographed by Jatin Goswami and it was a production of Sattriya Academy, Guwahati. People from different communities apart from Assamese people living in Delhi came to see the 'Brahmaputra Beats'. This sort of programme shall definitely boost up in promoting the folk culture of Assam to a larger audience.

The programme was organised by Impresario India, a New Delhi based Socio Cultural Organisation.
