Unlike most students, those from Jnana Prabodhini are heading for the less explored, less known north-eastern states and it\\'s not just a pleasure trip.
The 120 girls and 75 boys will go in five batches to Meghalaya, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur and Tripura will be Stopovers.
Why the north-east? \\" When we had interacted with students from the north-east they told us people always asked if they were from another country. Our visit there is also to show that we know that we are all Indians.\\" chattered some of the excited girls who left on monday as part of the first batch of 34 students.
Says Manasi Gulavni who will visit villages in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh,\\" We want to be friends with the children and the people we meet to.\\" Adds Sailee Kaluskar,\\"We want them to know that they are not outsiders.\\"
Says Mahendra Sethiya, coordinator of the project and editor of Chatra Prabodhan the in house magazine, “Each batch will spend time in five villages in their 20 day tour.\\"
The focus is also to study their lifestyle, Education and Health. Once they get back, they will present a report of their experiences and their study, adds Sethiya.
Every village they visit will be given a cheast full of experiments that will explain principles like Newton\\'s Laws, Archimedes Principle and more. Guess what will be the special gifts - perfumed erasers and sweets.
