Bihu celebration in Surat.
The biggest festivals of the assamese "Rongali Bihu" was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Tecnology, Surat, Gujarat.
ULFA ups the ante
Considering that the outfit has been relatively silent since the installation of the Tarun Gogoi-led Congress government at Dispur in May 2001, the strikes could well mark the surfacing of a change of political equations. It seems strange then that it should have been the Gogoi administration that seemed completely at a loss regarding the violence, coming as it did in the midst of claims that the state was finally returning to normalcy.

Just like other parts of the country celebrating the new lunar year, here in Bangalore the assamese community took the privilege to celebrate the 'Bohag Bihu' with full zeal, zest and enthusiasm even though they are thousands of miles away from home amidst their day to day busy life. The people gathered with their ethnic assamese clothes. The celebration took place with Bonti Prajwalon, Xanskritik Xandhiya,(sangeet, natak, bihu Nritya, husori) followed by dinner. It was good to see all the Assamese Folks jiving to the tunes of the Dhol and Pepa.

Geeta Barua Deka is my mother and we did receive a miracle
Many people feel mom suffered and went through pain simply because she had cancer. The truth is she felt uneasiness twice and that was because she was in a bed for several days something she couldnt stand because she was somebody who loved to cook every morning, go to work everyday, go to every party, do all she did and take care of everyone at the same time. She was so active that lying in bed for more than a couple days was like hell.
